Lee Morrison has been training in martial arts and reality-based self-defense for over 33 years. His acclaimed Urban Combatives system combines attributes from the many different systems in which he has trained over the years. For example, he attributes his explosive power to weight lifting, his mental toughness to muay Thai, and his ability to strike and withstand strikes to boxing. Additionally, his art has been influenced by such luminaries as Dennis Martin, Geoff Thompson, and Kelly McCann. All these influences have helped create the intense system of Urban Combatives.
In this interview, we discuss Lee’s background in traditional martial arts, the people who have influenced his training over the years, and why he would rather fight a professional cage fighter than a chemically altered 16-year-old armed with a screwdriver. Paladin has released four videos with Lee: Urban Combatives Counter-Knife, Urban Combatives Counter-Grappling, Mass Attacks, and Put Him Out!
